Day 1: Arrival in Ölgii & Journey to the Oigor River Valley

Upon arrival in Ölgii, the cultural heart of Mongolia’s Kazakh community, you will be warmly welcomed by your local expedition team, including your driver, cook, horse guides, and English-speaking guide.

Ölgii is known for its rich Kazakh traditions, vibrant local culture, and deep-rooted nomadic heritage that continue to shape daily life across Western Mongolia.

After meeting the team and preparing equipment, we begin our journey toward the beautiful Oigor River Valley, surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes, open steppe, and untouched wilderness.

Along the way, you will experience your first glimpse of authentic nomadic life in the Altai and meet local families who call this remote region home.

As evening falls, enjoy dinner beneath the vast Mongolian sky and settle into the peaceful silence of the wilderness.

Accommodation: Tent camp in the Oigor River Valley
Meals Included: Dinner

Your guide is a Mongolian traditional flute (Tsuur) and throat-singing Khuumii musician. So all kinds of cultural and traditional artistic discourses and teachings are possible along the way.
