Our Team

Baatarsuren Gantulga

Founder & Director | Cultural Guide | Limbe Musician

Baatarsuren Gantulga is a professional Mongolian limbe (flute) musician, cultural guide, and Founder & Director of Khargai Tour Adventure LLC. He represents a new generation of cultural practitioners dedicated to preserving Mongolia’s nomadic heritage through music, storytelling, and immersive expedition travel.

Raised in Western Mongolia’s Khovd Province, he grew up immersed in nomadic life, learning horse riding, herding, hunting, and traditional ecological knowledge from his family. From an early age, he also joined his father on wilderness and conservation expeditions, developing a lifelong connection to Mongolia’s landscapes, wildlife, and nomadic communities.

He studied Traditional Music Education at the Mongolian University of Culture and Arts, specializing in limbe, while also practicing khuumii (throat singing), tsuur, and other traditional instruments passed down through family lineage.

Today, he leads selected expeditions with Khargai Tour Adventure, where he integrates music, culture, and nature. During journeys, he introduces guests to khuumii techniques and offers authentic cultural insight into Mongolia’s nomadic traditions, creating a deeper connection between travelers and the landscapes they explore.

Gantulga Margad

Advisor & Co-Founder

Gantulga Margad is a senior Mongolian environmental specialist with over 30 years of experience in nature conservation, biodiversity research, and ecosystem protection.

Born in Khovd Province, he grew up in a traditional hunting family and developed early skills in reading landscapes, tracking wildlife, and understanding the balance of nature — a foundation that shaped his lifelong work in conservation.

He has worked extensively across Mongolia’s major ecosystems, including the Altai-Sayan region, the Great Lakes Basin, and the Gobi Desert, with a focus on endangered species such as the snow leopard, argali sheep, Mongolian saiga, and Pallas’s cat.

From 1998 to 2014, he collaborated with WWF Mongolia and served as a member of the “Irves-3” anti-poaching unit, contributing to wildlife protection and anti-poaching efforts in Western Mongolia.

He has also worked with international research teams and conservation organizations, and contributed to wildlife documentaries by National Geographic and NHK.

In 2019, he co-founded Khargai Tour Adventure LLC and continues to serve as an advisor, guiding conservation-based expedition travel in Western Mongolia.

Our Conservation Story

Khargai Tour Adventure was founded on decades of collaboration in wildlife conservation, anti-poaching initiatives, ecological research, and responsible field expeditions throughout Western Mongolia.

Our work is rooted in respect for nature, local communities, and cultural heritage. Through responsible tourism, we aim to create meaningful experiences that contribute directly to the long-term protection of Mongolia’s fragile ecosystems and endangered wildlife.

Every expedition supports conservation awareness and sustainable travel practices across the Altai region.
